Patient complains of numbness in the neck and also wakes up with severe back pain at night.
Using Gonstead Chiropractic, two structural abnormalities were detected and corrected. The original abnormality — the foundation (sacrum) — caused the rotatory scoliosis leading to all the structures to compensate.
One compensation — 1st Dorsal vertebra — had too much biomechanical stress to it and eventually failed biomechanically, resulting in the symptom of numbness in the lower neck region. No different to the final straw that broke the camel’s back.
Although the patient experienced significant relief in the neck, it will not stay stable and corrected until the foundation (sacrum) is corrected and stays stable which will require several months of corrections.
