Patient presents with right hip pain and sharp sciatica that radiates down to the leg. Upon waking up, experiences 10 mins of sharp sciatica of 9/10 VAS till approximately 2PM. After 2PM is 6/10 VAS. Needs to take ibuprofen 800mg to get through the day. Bending head forward while standing makes the sciatica worse.
It started 7 years ago, 2012. Went to physical therapy, and acupuncture with little relief. About 2 years ago, it resolved for 9 months then relapsed with excruciating hip pain and right sciatica since Feb 2019.
Thorough Structural Test with Gillet Test reveals abnormality at the right ilium and 4th Lumbar vertebra. Xray reveals DJD / Degenerative Joint Disease at 4th & 5th Lumbar discs, and old groin pull injury that damaged the left pubic symphysis which the patient confirmed was injured playing soccer 2 years with a severe black & blue bruise that took 6 months to recover.
