4 weeks sprained ankle with Pigeon toe, hammer toes, and flat feet – Dr Suh Gonstead Chiropractic

Father was concerned his 8 year old son walks with an in-toe / pigeon toe with his feet. During the consultation and examination, it was found that the son would plantar flex the right foot as much as possible and been doing so for the past 4 weeks.

Thorough Structural test reveals several abnormalities — flat feet (pes planus) on both feet which resulted in collapsed medial arch, lateral arch, and transverse arch and that contributed to the hammer toes. The consultation also reveals the ankle was sprained 4 weeks ago with persistent ankle swelling that has not gone away after 4 weeks that necessitated xray of the foot to rule out any serious potential issues which there was no fracture found. Base Posterior Sacrum and the talus were identified as the structural abnormalities causing the pigeon toe and the sprained ankle. Patient was referred to a pediatric podiatrist for orthotics.
